at my uni house we have a wireless g internet connection.
4 computers are connected to this. The connection is working for three of the users, but I cannot access the internet. It says the signal strength between the laptop card and the router is "good", that there is "no or limited connectivity"
Any help would be great,

Try going closer to the connection. Is there anything interfering with the connection?

So when u right click on the wireless icon in the system tray and then click on view available wireless networks, does it say ones connected on that window?

check if u still have ip's left in the dhcp pool.
check if swapping wirelesscards with a working machine makes yours work, if so replace the wireless-adapter.
quick sollution.. plug in the cable or hitch-hike on some-one elses (unpassworded) wlan

t_benn - there is nothing interfering, people at a greater distance can still get it to work
Skinz - it says available wireless networks, but it says No connectivity or something next to the connection
5chaap - please could u simplify the dhcp pool bit? i have tried swapping cards and it still doesnt work!

I think Schaap2k might be right about the dhcp thing, Click on start then run, then type cmd then click enter.
This takes you to a dos prompt, type ipconfig, when youve done that make a note of the ip address and then post it back up here.

thats a microsoft default internal ip address you get when you have no connectivity.
Sounds like you need to sort out what the SSID name is and put that into the wireless network settings

its either you havent entered in the SSID name OR, you are running encryption and you need to enter the key

Try disabling any Antivirus and Firewall software.
Can you ping / telent to the router?

I never read the thread i just posted 
he should still try taking and firewalls or antivirus out though , or if on XP the built in FW.

hi, ive been altering the wireless card settings, such as the P address etc (after the fault), will this affect it.
Ive tried disabling security and it still doesnt work

find the setting for SSID then find it on the ones that work, make a note and enter the same into your ssid setting, I cant tell you where to find the SSID option as it is different on different cards, but root around the settings of the wireless card, and the wireless network properties and you should find it

Is your browser set to automatically pick up an IP or have you at some point manually entered a static IP? Are you on XP as well?

most wireless ap's dish out dhcp, surprised if it doesnt. the ssid will be in wireless card or wireless prooerties not router properties altho u can see it in router props as thats where u set it

It is set to automatic at the moment (IP address). I am using IP.

Why not check all the network settings on one of the PC's that work and replicate them on your machine? Turn of any AV software you have and firewalls etc. Have you updated your PC to XP service pack 2 yet, if not do so.
This might sound stupid, but if you go to My Network neighbourhood, and right click on the wireless network, do you have the option to connect? You said you can see the network but you arnt connected. YOu might just have to conect to it for the first time

why is everyone saying try and connect blah blah, it will never work with that IP address he has at the moment, that IP address is saying there is no netowrk connectivity or no dhcp server, without a valid internal ip address it will never work
