got ebc green stuff pads fitted with ebc grooved and drilled discs at demon tweeks fortnite ago. cost a lot of money and was told they'd be the bollox however when driving i dont fink there even as good as my standard ones were - i can hear the pads sliding against the disc as i slow down instead of gripping the disc properley - ive been told u have to heat them up but how long does this take? theres been a number of times now were ive missed a turning cos the brakes didnt stop me in time.
will this be a constant problem or is it all part of "bedding" them in?
any help most apreciated
cheers

dont know much about brakes but maybe they are not clamping tight enough to the disc when braking?

The pads are a better compound than standard, but the discs won't give any better stopping than standard.
The discs should cool quicker and clear any glazing on the pads, but this will lead to increased pad wear.
The disc castings are no more uprated than a standard disc.

I had em on my Corsa, thought they were shit. Mintex and Black diamond are good but the best ones I've used are Hawk Racing brake pads. You can Buy em from Rally design.

best pads to go for in my opinion are standard Vaux pads.
Last ages, minimal brake dust and cost around £20.

you should try having V6 brakes for a while
the only reason i changed to the ebc pads was to try and cure the brake dust

I've got EBC Discs and Greenstuff pads for my XE'd Corsa and they are crap, they have glazed over and i can see minor cracks in the disk, plus they have gone blue......wouldn't buy them again! I've only had them on 2months, wank!

A lot of people fit aftermarket "performance" brakes and go out and hammer them. If you did that to standard equipment, it would crack the same.
EBC discs are no stronger than standard.
