well you have choices.....

you can take the gearbox off the engine in the car - Serveeer pain in the cnut...

you can leave the gearbox in the car and take the engine out - Easyer but still a pain in the cnut.

Or just drop the whole lot out and change the clutch out on the ground.... ALOT easyer but VERY labour intensive....

the big problem with the first 2 is getting the gearbox to mate up with the engine again cos there is just so little room to work with..... and the gearbox is a heavy peice of shit

i trying to take the engine out the top leaving the gearbox were it was.... after about 4 hours of cursing and kicking the thing i eventually just droped the whole lot out made it much easyer to get the gearbox off and then back on.....

while you doing the job replace the rear crank shaft oil seal as a matter of course... so it save you haveing to take ythe whole lot back out!

also allow 2 days for doing it... dont make the mistake of promising your girlfriend that you will drive to her mams house 400 miles away when your finished

erm... the cranckshaft oil seal is leaking... hence why the clutch is slipping....

not to worry i only replaced 3 clutches to figure that out the engine needs to be yanked out and rebuild top to bottom.... BUT i dunno i'f i'll bother.... another car has started to take my fancy....
