As you all should know ive just put a valver in but im struggling bigtime with traction on launch! The arse end is lowered 65mm, would raising it to say 30mm help get some weight over the front end and improve launch? I have a fair bit of ICE in the boot but unless its BONE dry im fighting for traction. LSD would improve things a lot, I know but I dont have the budget for that yet.

BTW Im running 300lb front coilover springs lowered 50mm and rear Spax RSX adjustable dampers with spax 60mm springs - no front ARB, standard rear ARB. Cornering is fine its just on lauch im struggling!

hi mate. what tyres do you have ?
if they're decent, then you may just need to take it a bit easier in 1st, or maybe launch in second if you can get used to it.

launching in 2nd is useless.... fucks your clutch etc etc...

raising the rear will help shift weight to the front.... i'd try that.... or.... lower the front if thats the easier option (coilovers)

Jacking the back end up will help, not sure by how much. If the back if lower than the front it may be an idea to level it, but jacking up the rear is a bit exteme.

As said, decent tyres, and not too much air in them and save for a diff. Although the diff wont help loads in straight line launches.

Launching in second? WTF? Clutch frying slow coach tastic!

Jsut don't pull off so fast in 1st, wait till you're rollign a bit then nail it. a LSD won't help that much, unless it'a 90% plate set up then you will have fun parking.

That fact with a diff is that its still easy to spin both wheels in a straight line...

Front is perfect and took me a long time to get like it... 50mm doesnt scrub and exactly 1 deg of neg camber. As for tyre pressures im running 36psi fronts and 30psi rear. Would the lack of ARB on the front be an issue?

Ive got me std rear springs - i'll just whip them in and see what its like. Wish someone would make uprated rear pig-tale springs, could fit really short 2.25" coilover springs in the rear but that would mean zip-tying them on which is a bit of a bodge for my liking but at least you'd be able to try out different poundages more easily.

What is the poundage of std springs? I heard a guy from Cossvaux say that it was 120lb or something?

36psi wont help traction. I used to run 30psi all round on my Nova.

Wouldn't have thought the ARB would make a difference.

shove it in second as you get going and feather the throttle when you get going a bit quicker then floor it,and yes your tyre pressures are way to high.

Try it on a TB's 20XE TB's mean you go from little to lots with the tiniest movements, like an on off switch if you start spinning. Just learn to feed the clutch in smoothly.
I'm a fan of 3-4k launches and you just feed int eh clutch to adjust slippage.
Traction control system allow 10% slippage to gain maximum acceleration.
*This advice may reduce the life of your clutch and tyres*

its been raining here the past few days and its next to impossible to get traction in first and second.... this is on a c16xe with manztel.....

the trottle on my manztel is extremely sensitive for some strange reason....

the trottle pedal is heavy so i have to push it harder than normal... then it drops suddenly and i get a pile of revs....

its a good complaint though
