C86 is £14 for the set again.

Cavey - will have to look up the price for your carts, but they're generally around £30 for the pair. Will u2u the prices tomorrow if you like?

I work for a company called LeisurePrint Supplies Ltd.

Can look at Reviews on Amazon.co.uk if you want to see what other people have written about the printers.

The R300 doesn't have the actual image though does it ? 7762 has a "Preview" screen to see the actual image. I thought the 300 only had the image number n stuff.

You're probably right though, seem to know what you're on about.

Yeah, u2u me please mate, need some more soon-ish

So which one would you go for out of this lot:

Epson C86 = £80
Epson R200 = £80
Epson R300 = £85

Out of the 3 which printers would you choose?

Btw these prices are taken from curries

Happy - I'd go for the R200 mate. If you're not printing photos, this will be fine. It's also newer technology than the C/CX series printers, so you'd prob be better off. Like I say, don't rush to buy one online, or from PC World especially. Check out the computer trade fairs near you, you can usually haggle a bit too.

Would be easy if you were in the West Mids, I could show you round them

Yeah, as said before, the R300 just has card reader and basic options screen. The R300M has an optional preview monitor

TBH mate, for another £5, I'd get the 300. If you or your missus do get into photos later (I don't mean that to sound dodgy), the reader will come in V handy.

The other thing to bear in mind is that the R200/300 have the facility to print direct to printable cds/dvds, which is quite handy...

you're confusin me

No, now that I've seen the prices you got there, you may as well go for the 300. For the extra £5, it's worth havin the card reader just in case, thats what I'd recommend anyway.

The ink cartridges are the same for both the 200 and 300, so £14 eitherway for a full set - thats a black and five colours.

As I said before, I don't sell printers. Its our policy to offer advice based on what we think would be best for the customer. If we were to start selling printers, obviously this would be affected.

OK fella... yeah, thats right

Don't forget its a pound P&P on any cartridge order, so it'd be about £15 in total...

Might also be worth knowin we sell a full range of papers too, anything from mouse mat kits to glossy paper to pre-folded greetings cards

Phew, can go to bed now

Not that big really, I got the R300, an old 750 and a 1290 A3 printer all on a single rack. They aren't bad size wise really.

Am very impressed with mine, it's very quiet, prints superbly and is really well put together. Like I said before, bein able to print onto a CD/DVD is great too

Tell you what - I'll take a pic of my trio tomorrow so you can see

All inkjet printers will have problems if not used, the difference between Epson and Canon or HP and Lexmark is that the print head is mounted on the carts of the last two, so replacin a cart effectively gives you a new printer. However, they are extremely expensive to run. Eg: almost £50 for pair of Lexmark carts compared to £14 for a full set of premium Epson R300 ones.

I'd go for an R300 any day of the week, best printer from Epson in a long long time. If you really want to go for something with the heads on the cartridge, go HP. Lexmark is the biggest rip off going.

Anything else, feel free to ask.

this man talks 100% truth! ive got a hp 940c, brilliant quality, but ink is expensive because of the cartridges, my mate has a r300 epson and fair play it isnt that bad, if u want quality go for HP but if u want budget but quality go for epson!, stay away from lexmark!!

Epson and HP are good. I've had an Epson in the past and had no probs. Now got two hp ones, a 5850 (wireless for my laptop) and a 3420 (cheap on ink about £8 a cart). The 5850 is a top photo/office printer but the carts are 30 a pop. Just check how much ink is when you pick the one you want, also check the size of the carts

Not pointless - mine come in very handy. And as I've said earlier on, for an extra fiver, may as well upgrade to an R300, should he want to do any camera work in future.
