yea, ive given up on it - the reg doesnt like supplying more than 2amps i knew i should have read the spec before using it, but hey. So it would have mean using a coil etc etc = pain in the arse and expensive

however, i doubt you will see an adaptor this side of xmas, especially not from sony themselves...but you never know
