Compared to the 1.4 16v sport/sri

advantages cheaper to buy and cheaper insurance

disadvantages - like i said they slow Think they are about 60bhp (not 100% sure) where as the sport is 90

Insurance is cheap, only group 4...

60Bhp, 0-60 book figures around 13 secs, in reality I've got closer to low 11's.

Top speed around 100-105mph.

Easy to fix & very cheap to get parts for. Also fairly good economy for the engine size.

Thanks for that, any more info on the
Hi Torq chaps ?.
Insurance is a BIG consideration as it's
for a 17 year old, how does the 1.4 compare against a 8valve 1.2 Arizona ?
Back in a short short, over to Parkers to
have a looksee

Wessy, I was paying £1100 FC in my name when I first got my corsa when I passed my test, and this was with pass-plus.

It will be alot cheaper for female drivers tbh! I was a young male, 'high-risk' as its put, my friend when I got a quote for her on my corsa was nearer £700 FC for her first year (if car was in her name)

For example 1.2 12v or indeed the 1.4
Hi Torq, suppose they're all pretty good

1.0 12v
1.2 8v
1.4 8v

Depends, the 1.4 is good for short bursts, tbh I had no problem getting to 70 on motorways.

At the end of the day though, insurance on the 3 low-range models will be pretty much the same, it will just come down the the cost of the car & mileage/age...

I myself though wouldn't go with the 12v, mainly cos I'd rather have 4cyl's, not 3...

Thanks for that PaulW, penny has now dropped 12v is 3 cyl !
There's me thinking 4cyl and 3v per cyl !
1.4 8v is in front I think ( literally speaking )
