im currently looking for a white corsa to strip out and really clean up.

i have two options :-

buy a gsi in good knick and tune that engine or....

get a base model corsa and buy a 1600 lump (i assume this is ok to do)

also corsa gsi lump and tigra 1600 lump the same???

Also after ideas to actually tune the engine.... whats avalible and what would people recommend

so adam/ollie/vibs/lee you have a blank canvass give me some ideas and rough prices please

how much you want to spend

I'd go for either TB's or the inlet route. cams, bdalis inlet, exhaust manifold, ecat back system, head work and unichip will see you at around 155hp however the cost of all that probably runs to the same as the base kit for TB's

I'm starting off with

Velos inlet manifold
Unichip
SBD 4-2-1 manifold
Straight through system

That should see about 130bhp

Once I have more money, I will have some head work done and some cams fitted.

Should then be pushing 155bhp.

Because I'm going to do my car in stages.

Like this month I'm getting the rest of the parts to fit the engine as well as the Inlet manifold, then next month I'll get the exhaust manifold, month after that Unichip etc etc

Next winter I'll fit throttle bodies.

This is the way Andy H done it, and I'll do the same.

so basically your going to take it stage by stage tuning the engine then when you can add the throttle bodies at a later stage?

what BHP you hoping to get when the TB's are finally fitted ollie?

Well the inlet manifold will be on there when the engine is fitted, it won't be much faster until I have the Unichip to map it all together.

I need to get all the internals up rated when the throttle bodies are put in place, so it will be an expensive job, that's what you've got to remember Darren. Its not just a case of fitting throttle bodies for £1100, you need to spend another £1100 on strengthening the engine with up rated components.

Oh, with the headwork, cams, throttle bodies, mapped and strengthened internals etc it will be about 170-175bhp.

Inlet manifold
4-2-1 manifold
Unichip
Straight through exhaust

No internals strengthened to start with, I'll only uprate them when I fit throttle bodies.
