no, hes done the tweak to several cars before and many people assure me he is the man in the know about diesel engines.

From what i can gther from te tutorial, its a very long winded version of what he did. It took about 10 minutes to knock some cap off and then adjusted the fuelling to idle higher. then added the bleed valve, secured it and he said it was ready. we took it for a decent spin to check it was ok, when we got back we turned teh fuelling down and left it at that

that would be why then, sounds like he hasnt removed the white polo, this is why it hasnt made too much of a difference as this is the on boost fuel restrictor, my bro made this mistake.

he also hasnt turned the idle speed down, no offence to you but to be honest he doesnt sound as good as everyone you know makes out. my dad and uncle work with engines and have 55 years of experience between them, this is how i know about diesel tuning.

its the restrictor inside the fuel pump. you have to remove this or you wont gain anywhere near as much power on the 1.5 td engine. print out the tutorial and show it too him.

quote from tutorial
"Back to the car now, look at were the cover came off and you will see a rubber diaphram, gently push a small screwdrive down the side of it and you will find it is possible to lift it up until it hits the bottom of the inlet manifold, if you get a torch and shine it through the gaps between the inlet manifold from the front looking through the gaps you will see the small white ring that sits below the diaphram, just hold the diaphram up with one hand and with the other take the stanley knife and reaching over the manifold you can get to the white ring and cut through the side of it, take the pliers and pull the ring off"

do what ive just done. basically follow the tutorial in the diesel tuning FAQ. all you need is a bleed valve @ £20 tops for cheap one. you basically adjust the fuelling and the boost. you need a boost gauge if you want to set the boost properly bu i didnt use it. all done on trial and error

2.2CDi turbo, now there's a diesel with potential, I've been playing with the idea of one in a nova, but my mates keep takin the piss too much, that boosted up would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeet, but alas, its not petrol and doesn't getthe respect.

i really want a golf mk4 with the proper bo GTi TDi engines. that should be tuneable to 180bhp piece of piss, and the advantage being you still get the economy back when driving sensibly
