I hate to say it, but agree with two shoes above.

When i bought my C20LET for the corsa, it needed a new turbo. It was around £600 + VAT for a replacement turbo, and about £750 inc VAT for a bigger (I think?????) T3 turbo. Extra few gee gees for hardly anything more.

Worth considering.

Toyotas don't run Garrett turbos, T3's and such are so cheap because there are sooo many around. All the RS cars use Garrett so there are loads to choose from and loads of different modified ones.

Are your blades steel or ceramic? what turbo is it? ST21, or st10.... or something else

I think its a CT20 or a CT26 depending on its year.

Sorry to hear that Drew, hope you manage to get it sorted soon. Ive got problems too, ive got a weak actuator and car isnt holding boost as its peaking at 15psi and dropping to 11psi. Thinking about just leaving it for the moment and wait til christmas bonus comes in and get a hybrid

not sure if it is turbo - but i dont know much about turbo engines

ive took the pipe off, it still has all its blades on it, dont seem to be any/much movement in the shaft, and it spins freely by hand, so now im stumped

i aint too clued up yet either but the actuator got something to do with the amount of boost running thru your turbo, if its weak it wont hold boost and u can push the rod in and out really easy, my old actuator was fcuked it hit 16psi but only held 12psi constant, think it controls the wastegate too, my actuators twin port, got 2 pipes goin to it, aint sure what diff this makes though!

ok - turbo seems ok - but mite not be

wont run any boost at all, gauge goes to zero, but wont go no higher, just a whistling noise

if the turbo was fuckered, would the boost gauge still boost or not?

could it be the actuator not letting it boost?

its possible Drew, the actuator could be stuck and not letting the car boost at all, basically making the turbo redundant. If it was weak i would assume it would still let some form of boost through but it sounds like it isnt even doing that. When did the problem happen, i.e. were you out driving and it suddenly stopped boosting or did you notice it when you started up? and if so, was it fine on the last drive?

the actuator is like a safety valve that blows when you get to a certain amount of boost, might be stuck open

if its stuck open, would it not make no boost at all?

sounds like the actuator is stuck, but im not 100% sure on it, see if you can find a diagram on net and look for the actuator on it, then have a look and see if you can move it at all

if your turbo was gone you'd no as the ammount of grey/black smoke that comes out, ive blown mu boost hoses of before so check them , or pipes could have split.
