diy is the easiest thing eva check out my garage av done it....

U basically take the scuttle off etc and take the wiper assembly out.

Cut off threaded bar on the left that left wiper wud attach to, so it doesnt stick up.

Pull of the linkages, and u'll c the flat metal bar u need to shorten.

Cut in half and trim 10mm of one of the sides

Shamfer with grinder then weld togeather
weld on both sides for strength otherwise when u put on full speed it snaps, less leverage more strain on linkage.

Refit

U'll need a slightly bigger blade to get higher up the screen but it will travel the full windscreen and its legal, my dad does MOT and confirmed it for me.

Any questions U2U

How did you manage to fit a longer wiper blade? Im pretty sure that my wiperblades go right to the edge of the screen already?

Only thig i can think of is of cutting a piece out of the wiper arm itself? Cut out 1" and reweld, then fit a 2" longer blade?

Does it matter where on the windscreen the wiper arm rests for it to be MOT friendly and legal?

it needs to be on the passenger side of the glass, but depends on who u take it too as some will not bother as long as it sweeps the whole screen

i cut 11mm out of the said bar

using normal blade, an inch longer tho will do just as well

cut the arm is also an option of fit a smaller one off a different car
