Budget, Clifford Concept 300 £300 or Toad A606i £300,

but if its all singing all dancing then the Clifford Advent Gaurd £1000at a guess i think is the daddy but the concept 600 is a very good alarm for around £600

the concept 300 is cat 1approved. its probably your best bet for a £300 alarm. clifford is also a well known name like for insurance companies and stuff.

I've just ordered/booked myself in for a Clifford Concept 100 for £220 fully fitted (anywhere nationwide) @ RSAudio.

From the spec, it looks pretty loaded, but i'm having the interior ultrasonics put in, as well tilt sensors.

Auto closure might come at a later date, as there are 2 free channels.

However, if u want Thatcham, the Concept 300 comes in @ £299 fitted. Almost identical to 100, but CAT1/2

I've been looking solidly for the last 2 weeks on the net, and not found a place that will supply and fit (nationwide), a clifford 300 for £250.

If you know of one, supplying and fitting the alarm, including VAT, let me no asap mate!

Clifford Concept 300 and above should all be Thatcham Cat1 approved (unless it has remote start)

300, 500 & 600 are cat1.

the 400 & avantguard 4 arn't unfortunatly, but still worth mentioning to insurance company as some will still give you a discount.

i've checked - and there aint no places in Max power that do a clifford 300 for £250.

Maybe it was a special offer - they do a Avital Maxx for £250 fitted now

Whats the best things to get with an alarm and what do they mean? Things like - auto closure, glass tampering sensors, dual proxmity sensor, etc???

auto closure - u look the car and walk away, and it does the windows + sunroof (if electric) itself.

Glass tampering sensors - well....yep thats wot they are

Dual proximity sensor - On a clifford, i believe this is a sensor that dectors not full on break in (ie:door/boot open), but also detects impacts on the car itself

Then theres...

intellistart - ability to start your car remotely, but keeping it secure

headlight on/night vision - use a button on ur remote to turn ur headlights on to let u se the way to ur front door etc

And u can then go to get turbo timers (lets the engine run for few mins after to let turbo oil flow etc), black jax (anti hi jack system), pager systems etc.

the clifford list is endless, but most systems are easily upgraded after wards!
