i want one of these but would like to install windows and office. as they dont have a cd drive i can only asume this is possible with usb. 
 
Has anyone done this? easy and straight forward? any guides availible?

he meens an acer asipire one netbook, the small 8.9" screen version. 
 
yes xp goes on very well and runs great.  
 
you can install from a usb pen very easily, just need a 1 gig usb pen and a copy of xp on cd rom. 
 
or a usb cd drive also works.

guide, errrr fairly straightforward, little bit of ms-dos involved, people might struggle if there not familiar with it, still i would say its relatively easy.

Ive got an acer aspire one, i got the 8gig 512mb version, first thing ni did was install XP on it, then bough t a gig of RAM, now its running a gig and a half of of RAm itd running quite well. needs a bit of tweaking but im happy woth it.
