hi
I am new to this forum, so hello everyone.
I did a search about this, but didnt find anything, so sorry if I have missed anything.
I have a 94 (M) 1.4 GLS 5 door Corsa and it is revving on engine statup - not everytime though. If you switch off and restart the engine then settles down - but doubt if it is doing the battery any good.
This did happen about 18 months ago as well and we were told it was the idle valve, which got replaced (£££!!!) and it did seem ok after that, but it is now happening again!
The car is servced regularly at a main dealer and is otherwise excellent.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

What sort of reving is it? Up and down, or does it hold at a certain revs?

Hi Doc
It is fairly constant, actually sounds like a old car with the choke pulled out (showing my age I know)

what revs is it holding itself around, and how many miles have you done since the Idle control valve?

Just an update - the car, although still running at high revs on times is now showing a higher than usual temperature reading? Does this help any in diagnosing?
