Just reading this thread on PGAC:

http://www.peugeot-gti.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=97305

Made me think it'd be pretty cool to get a load of the corsa's down to a track action day, there's a lot of people now with 2.0's, and other things and it'd be interesting to see how they compare to other cars round the track?

Anyone ever been to one of these track action days? what sort of cars go round?

everything from corsa's to ferraris, ive done 4 now, none in my car but dads kit cars!
brillaint fun just have to understand your limits and go no where near them! Also watch for slow cars, fast cars!

For example i nearly went into the back of a 205 gti 1.6 at donnington as he braked super early for a corner, but then you have near enough race cars hammering past at 160mph on straights.

Had a good race with a r34 skyline at hethel last year, that was good fun as i would be much faster in twisties then he would pull away in straights we spnt 20 laps chasing each other

on castle combe track days are you allowed to overtake through corners? otherwise it's a bit ghey as something like a 106 gti will be shit for top end down the straights.

your not supposed to over take in corners no, but if your fast you can overtake just before a corner, supposed to be straights only

im sure you can get away with out braking someone... but as long as your not side by side in a corner then its ok.

no paul, you will probably get a warning, slower cars are supposed to stick to the right of the track and let faster ones past on the straights and before corners etc!

I see so you'd have to late brake around the outside then try to hold the car on the track as you take a shit line lol

nah, slow cars pull to the right out of corners so fast cars past,
youre supposed to do the overtaking before you enter the braking zone and corner.
If you hit them through locking up etc they wont be happy, not everyone has track insurance.

An incident at donnington i spun going into a corner as the rear stepped out and an mr2 was too close he also skidded and thankfully i managed to correct the spin otherwise he would have just gone right into the side of me at 70+ mph, not nice inwhen u have a few bits of box section to protect you in a kit car!

combe is a fast track and you must pass on the right, you will never hit anything if you come off the right hand side as its a field in the middle,
