When I fitted my C16SE, I used my old 1.4 8v engine loom and everything works fine. All connectors on the loom had a home but not all engine parts did....ie. the one highlighted by the red arrow that is situated on the inlet manifold.....can anyone tell me what it is/does please?

Hmm....it's a 2 pin connector, not a pipe. As far as I'm aware having it unconnected is not essential to the running of the engine but I'm very curious as to what it is/does...anyone else?

It's the metal bit the arrow is pointing straight at, on the side of the inlet

Its Intake Air temperature sensor.

Plug it in as it tells the ecu the exact temp of the incoming air.

It's okay I think Vaux Lad....I'll explain. The donor car for the engine was an Astra so what I'm guessing is that the sensor is in a different location (ie. on the manifold itself). In my current setup, I have a sensor on the rubber sleeve from the air intake filter to the throttle body which (correct me if I'm wrong) is the same thing....I've just got it plugged in the 'normal' Corsa way as opposed to the way the Astra loom is setup.

I think
