EGR valve is bolted to the underside of the inlet manifold.
If you take the header tank out you'll see it bolted on to the underside of the inlet manifold.
Its a black cylinder on an alloy bracket with a 5 pin connector.

Update..
Drove to work last night and back home this morning and no sign of light coming on..... 
will watch and see......very strange though...

Mines came on and stayed on when I was coming home from college tonite
