HI,

Ive managed to crack my PSG bumper when there was resurfacing.

On the underside there is a split in it.

I am planning to use some sticks of wood for additional support, and then fibreglassing it all over. Then sanding down so its smoove, using filler for the last bit then paiting.

Is it better to use matt or the bodyfiller tub stuff you can get?

Regards
john

I wouldn't use wood myself.... might rot or swell up which would crack the fiberglass.

Yeah, leave the wood out matey! Best to use the fibreglass to reinforce a bit and the filler.... to fill!

you can get some thin wire mesh from most places which sell fiberglass paste... you could use that to reinforce with or what I've done is get a mesh thing which is supposed to go on the edge of 2 stud walls to hold them together behind the plaster, costs about £1.50 from homebase and is about 10 foot long! I cut it down to side and bent it so it would go inside the bottom of the bumper, then got a tin of P40 and stuck it to the inside of the bumper for extra strength and support.

I'll take a photo of the offcut I have left so you know what to look out for if you wanna try with this?
