Im planning of putting a full twin exit complete exhaust system (sportex) & a Pipercross Viper induction kit (carbon fibre)... think i should stick to a standard K&N 57i as its almost half the price of the Viper kit or would it be worth spending the extra & getting the Viper kit, will the power difference be alot or hardly any?

Won't be noticable, save your money. Just leave it standard or drill your airbox and get a panel filter if you must

dont do either

You'll regret both in the long run

Just pop a back box on if your looking for a little sportier noise.

If its performance you are after dont kid yourself that bolt on parts will trasform a car. Before noticable gains are made you'll have fitted cams and mappable ecu's etc..... Is that worth it on a 1.2? On a corsa?

Keep it as standard as you can. That will make it easier to sell once you have had enough or grown out of it. Save the money you are thinking of spending on these mods now, and use it 1 or 2 yrs down the line to buy a 'better' car.

good advice - iv wasted so much money on shite.. but on the other hand u say y spend money onj a 'corsa' as if we all have loads of money to spend on bigger cars-most of us are limited by funds remember-looking at an mr2 after the corsa, but a veilside bumper alone costs nearly £1000!!!!!!!!

So really we are only able to mod our 1.2's becuase we dont like standard at the end of the day!!!

you can pick up a 1.4 engine for £200 lol. thats the best mod for the money (as insurance isn't much more than the 1.2), or a 1.6 if you can afford.

it'll work out cheaper than an induction kit and exhaust and i think the 1.2 is 64bhp, the 1.4 is 88

kingcobra - i have a Corsa B Envoy.

I'm just trying to give you advice. If you didnt want it, you shouldnt have posted I wish i had listened to someone like myself over the last 7years or so.... it would have saved my a lot of hassle and bother not to mention cash.

j0hn - not my point exactly. I mean just BUY a better car. You dont like standard corsa's for a reason...... Maybe with the money you save by not 'modding' it you can afford a car that doesnt require your 'touch'

not worth spending money on a 1.2 because it will never be fast enough no matter how much is wasted on parts.

err yeah i've heard some of the 1.2 are 70 odd bhp as well, just wasn't sure if this was true. parkers technical data doesn't show any 1.2 with 70 odd and they have all the models (but maybe they just assumed they were all the same?)

on smaller engines the best mod for bhp/£ mods is a bigger engine until you're up to the 1.6, then inlets, TB's etc are an option if you don't want to go 2.0+

depends on if he has done any permanent mods and wants to keep what he has.

hence i started on a 1.4 sport (sunroof, leccy windows, half decent engine already there, spoiler blah blah blah).

you could probs pick up and engine with all the bits you need for £250 which may work out less than selling and buying another. although you wouldn't get all the extra goodies (sports come with slightly better suspension as well)
