I was under the impression that only 8valves were used untill a certian rpm and then in come the other 8...... thus giving a different power delivery to an 8valve lump

am i talking gibberish??

16 valve means 4 valves per cylinder on a 4 cylinder engine,
that 2 for inlet and 2 for exhaust on each cylinder
meaning fuel and air gets into the cylinder much faster

correct me if im wrong here people please

yeah thats all correct, but i thought only one inlet valve and one exuahst valve were used untill say 3,500rpm...... when in come the other 8....

certainly feels that way on my fester, you get an obvious power hike above 3.5thousand revs

someone clear this up for me pleeeease
