If you want the actual conrods then get onto migweb and PM a guy called "boost!"

He's doing a group buy for 2 ltr lot but also has 1.6 ones I ve just odered mine £350 inc ARP's and P+P

apparantly the standard con rods are good for up to 9000rpm and 190 bhp.

i know standard rods woith arp's are good for 8500rpm lol! standard crank is good for 9k, rods and pistons safely maybe 8k....

4k really isnt a lot of miles... granted they may work till 104k... but theres always the chance... at 8500RPM theres no really safey margin left... but thats just what i think and i'm a big gurl...

Im wil to take the risk, the cost of fixing it will be minimal in my eyes.... new block, sod all, then its the cost of rods and pistons that i never had before, only think that could be costly is replacing my head lol............

*runs and ordered forged stuff*

4k is alot when i have an estimated engine life of 20k lol

it revs to 8500rpm...... its not going to last long really, will need a rebuild approx every 20k.

ok im well not gonna go for that much tuned up how do you afford to rebuild so often do you have a really high payed job?

haha, as it happens im a student, so dont have much money comming in, my cars my hobby so nearly all my money goes on it, used to have a pretty decent job so that paid for a fair bit of it.... been out of work for a while but now im back in work.... i try not to use it that much as it drinks the fuel.

isnt a rebuild like 700 quid? i want performance but need reliability so im thinking of sacrificing the power because of the costs lol
