You'll get more power per £ with a inlet manifold replacement than a exhaust.

Miles, i was saying that he should get the exhaust manifold after the inlet manifold rather than an ecotek widget

the ecotek widget is worth gettin even if ur engine is standard, works well on my car, why do u think he should get a exhaust manifold first?

Dont fit an ecotek if you get thevelos plenum.
The brake servo pipe has to supply the map sensor too and it'll cause all sorts of problems at part throttle!
With the plenum you dont need to bleed any more air in cos its bloody huge!
Save ur £50 for the ARP rod bolts.

Because if hes getting lots more air into the engine, surely trying to let it escape just as easily is common sense?

They are uprated stronger bolts, rod bolts being the bolts that hold the con rods to the crank.

All the vac runs into the one hole but you dont get the little adapter to take the vac off for the map before the rest of the other stuff so i ended up having to disconnect my fuel tank vent out of the loop as it used to struggle at part throttle.
Personally wouldn't spend £50 on it without the chance of getting my money back if it didnt increase power.

You'll probably be ok with standard rod bolts as its only a 1.4 but mine's a 1.6 and ran up to 7822rpm at donny south to get to 63mph in 2nd.
Its not meant to be recomended to go over 7000rpm on standard con rod bolts.

I dont think they increase power (by anything noticable) but do help fuel economy. Its RPM that governs the need for them, so I cant see why a 1.6 would need them over a 1.4.

I had an adaptor with a outlet for the map sensor right from the manifold outlet.

will fuel trips be more regular wiv the velos, cos it puts out more bhp or wiil it be less due to it flowing more air through.

Power = fuel.

More air = greater need of fuel.

I didnt notice mpg go down that much, went from about 210miles for £20 to 180 miles.
The DTA i upgraded too drank the fuel though, only 130-150 miles for £20!
Worth it though cos it just seems to rev forever, 6700 is way too low, my mate is hitting the standard limmiter all the time like i used to with the plenum and standard ECU.
