does anyone have any pics of the engine bay for a 1.0.
i have a problem any wondered if any of you could tell me what the part is.

the problem is i could smell buring and see smoke coming out from under the bonnet.
next i know there oil all over the place, and on the manifold causing the smell but the part i dont know what it's called.
what looks abit like a spark plug coming out to the left of the rocker cover with a cable going into it.

I will be willing to bet your rocker cover gasket has gone leaking oil

if there oil everywhere it more than likely a blown gasket
the smoke will be burning oil try see where the oil is coming from if its mid engine its ur head gasket

oil wont come out of they have a good look at ur engine its gotta have been sprayed onto the manifold
i think that thing like a spark plug is a sensor

been told it is coming from there oil sensor or summit is it.
how much are they? if you know.

i thought the oil sensor was ussually at the bottom of the engine? not on the rocker cover

there usually go were the belts are and spray/leak out of there best getting someone to come look at it but dont drive it if it is thae head gasket ur fuck the engine

Oli you sure thats where the oil is coming from?? seems odd I can't really see what it is either from the pic?

yer that where abouts it is, theres are plastic casing with a wire runing through it into the sensor. oil covering it.

get some gunk and spray it down to clean the oil off leave it running a few mins have a good look to c where the oil is coming from

IIRC,. its the oil pressure sensor, and its a common fault with them. They cost about £30 and are simple to replace, but my brother's went again after about 4 months. I think it may indicate another underlying problem.

Oil pressure swich that if u not got it sorted had that problem too cost bout 4 quid from vaux

Mine went, it DOES leak oil, and cost 4quid from vauxhall. the seals on the plug wear out and let oil out.
