Dont know if i am just getting older but i need to quieten down my car. So sort this i took it to Exhausts uk yesterday who have put another silencer in, giving three in total. I also bought an old air box from the scrap yeard to replace my induction and could not belive how many diferent types their are. Having examined them all i decided a 1.2/1.4 8valve type was the best. This is because the lid does not have a funnel in the top like a 16v and the bottom half has a 2nd entry port for the warm air feel for cold starting.

i removed the lid to reveal the inside

I then unscrewed the screws next to the hot air valve and seperated the air box in to its componets. Once i have chopped off what i did not need i reassembled it to leave this

I then built it back up using the hold hot air feed as a 2nd cool air feed from the rad grille.

I then fitted it all up to the car

there should be 3 types of airbox, one for GSi, one for 8v, and one for 16v models.
