Feet, possibly huge distances, from the emitter; Witricity is the made group punting magnetic resonance power. It's certainly has potential but as it currently stands, NFMR is firmly in it's infancy and there's plenty of people concern over the health effects of having the body surrounded by large magnetic fields.

It's up to you to decide if it's worth the extra.

5 over 4S:
Thinner and lighter
Larger screen (and thus higher)
Slightly faster processor
Will scratch far more easily

To me, the weight and materials make it feel like a much nicer phone in the palm of your hand than the 4/4S.
I'm anal about my things and would hate owning something that scratches as easily as the black 5.

That's pants, I was expecting silly speeds on DC-HSDPA.

O2's super 3G is theoretically twice as fast as EEs 4G, apparently not in practice though.

Does it not depend whereabouts in Manchester you are though? It is fairly big place like...

Maybe, when they say they've got coverage in 'Manchester' though, you'd expect it to be the majority of the city.

You anywhere near the centre Alex?

Funny how O2 aren't able to provide any coverage maps for DC-HSDPA despite 'apparently' rolling it out in May.

Not sure how it works but perhaps DC-HSPDA uses the same 'band' as normal 3G and HSPA and is therefore overloaded with users thus reducing the speed.

This is more like what I was expecting, maybe Three's implementation is better...

There's no chance that's on every mast, it'll depend on exactly where you are.

Think we need inside info on this one, I'll try at work which is right in the centre of Manchester when I get my S3 back.

Does it have to be the 5? I've been working on Albert Sq for the last few months, not really noticed anything other than normal 3G speeds. That's with a 4 though.

Not sure about the 4 but the 4S and normal S3 have support for HSPA+ up to 21mb as opposed to the iPhone 5, S3 LTE and Note 2 which support DC-HSDPA's max 42mb.

Went to apple store to buy a spare cable for my phone. Like the way you don't need to go to a checkout, just scan it on the store app, pay with iTunes and away you go.

Apple seem to say the 4 and 4s are identical regarding 3G specs, only the 5 can do HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA.

was gonna say, i was not aware of any mass market phones doing higher than 14.4, S3 might (but i didnt think so, maybe 21.6 but certainly not 43.2) and the colouring of 21.6 and 43.2 with the LTE suggests only the 5 can do those 3, in Apple's portfolio. Our policy 2 years ago when i left the technilogy finance team, blanket 14.4 coverage across Europe. IIRC weve now upped that to 28.8 blanket with 43.2 and 56.8 (?) in cities and metropolis' respectively - so the networks are constantly ahead of the phone manufacturers

3GS was 7.2 def and 4 was 14.4, as i say i wasnt aware of any phones doing higher than 14.4 so would siggest 4S was the same, and i dont recall any marketing bumph about 21.6 (HSPA+ boundary IIRC) when 4S came out

Already leaks of the 5S shell:

http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/potential-iphone-5s-leaked-here-we-go-again-1117373

Rumours of a March launch which would be good as they need to speed up the launch cycles if they're only going to implement minor updates each time.
