The comments from the team might not be hinting at a known gearbox issue going into the race, it could be that they had problems during the race and tried to manage them.

I wouldn't let that Karthikeyan cunt drive a fucking wheelbarrow, useless fuck.

41 races, 39 starts, 1 points finish (when all bar 6 cars pulled out & he came fourth).

He'll bring money to the team, that must be the only reason why he gets a seat.

Or he can't judge his overtakes for shit - that was a pretty stupid move and he could'nt repeat it 100 times without either ending up in the wall or putting Senna into it

I think WDC is Alonso's now. I reckon the RB was artificially fast here because of it being such a high DF circuit, but the rest of the calendar will suit the McLaren perfectly.

McLaren will probably win 4 of the next 6, with maybe a Ferrari/RB or Lotus popping up to pickup the pieces of a McLaren operational or reliability failure.

Lewis won't get enough points to overhaul Alonso, and Alonso will go into the last race needing a P7 to win the WDC or something like that.

That said, surely Alonso's luck has got to run out soon - alright he had a DNF in Belgium but no hoper Button won the race. Maybe if Alonso runs into trouble and Lewis scores a victory it could be back on - but Lewis/McLaren can no longer win it this year by simply being the best car, they need Ferrari to trip up a couple of times.

Cheers Kyle, saved me typing anything

Urgh, what can you do? Was actually cheering on Button to get the win but always knew he'd just drop off.

As much as i arent a fan of Alonso, you have to respect the guy as a driver, probably the most complete driver in F1 right now. He'll win the title, from Lewis in 2nd, Vettel 3rd, Kimi 4th and Button 5th.

i was very impressed with massa's drifting, oversteering, losing control style overtake.

That was mental really well caught by Massa. Glad no one got punished for that, dont think Bruno expected Massa to fly up that fast and he was just taking his normal line, he came out of nowhere!

Just listened to Lewis' interview, he seems in a decent place right now, very composed.

Mclaren can win a lot of the next races, Hamilton needs to win them all. He can probably do it but he'd need zero bad luck, tough ask.

I swear a button battering ram on alonso is still the answer

Also Whitmarsh's interview on the forum near enough saying that Jenson will move over for Lewis should he need to, which is good to know.

Still got a great championship on the go here, an Alonso DNF in one of the next 2/3 races would make it interesting, although, knowing Alonso's luck, Karthikeyan would win

Schumacher unsurprisingly has a 10-place grid drop for hitting Vergne. He'll probably go on to get pole again now

That would make life a lot easier, yes I know team orders are allowed, but I'm not sure they could talk their way out of that one

Button did say he would help the team...

Very surprised by that. Looks like Lewis has gone after the money as there is no way you can say Mercedes in recent years have been on the same MacLaren. 1 good year when Button won in how many years?? And that was due to them starting development way earlier than anyone else while the rest were fighting for the title and their double diffuser rule reading
