True, mine hasnt been too bad, ive had a run of bad luck really, all thats actually broken was the gearbox, then I went and got another gearbox, that was also fucked

Well the 8v engine is now completly out of the bay, was sitting underneath the car untill I got a hoist to remove it.

Also removed these parts, which are for sale

Last owner decided to paint the ECU red

And all thats left of the XSI loom, ready to join to the VTS loom next week:

Cleaned up the bay, ready to paint, but its pishing rain again, so will do that when it dries up.

Replied, is it a hard conversion then Chris or pretty straight forward, I could be swayed towards the 16v in the furute but first I want to see if I get this better than my last one.

Seems pretty easy so far, loom is pretty simple once you get started.

Only other thing to do apart from the loom is the 8v engine mount by the ECU, need to grind a little off that to clear the timing belt cover.

I was going to wait til after rockness to start stripping the VTS, but im tempted to do it now

Aye, the 8v was brilliant fun, so 16v should be even better

Anyways, the big push to get it finished is on. Would of had it done this week if rockness wasnt on, but tbh the lure of drink, drugs and banging tunies for a whole weekend was too much.

So I got back from work today, and ripped the VTS apart

The engine is ready to come out, everything is off apart from 2 mounts, will take 10 mins tomorrow to remove the engine. Will get the loom and everything done then.

My brother is coming over to do some welding to the XSI on the inner wings on friday, we aim to have it running by friday night

Oh, and I now know why I got the VTS cheap, its unbelivably rotten underneath, destoryed the chassis leg with the jack, then when I lowered it onto axle stands, they near went through the bloody car

Few months ago, was picked up from my house right enough, im about 50 miles from the nearest scrappies that would pay anything for it.

I miss my renault, never let me down once, knocked fuck out of it everyday too

Mine was awesome, 1.9 TD "barittz" or something, was actually faster than my 1.4 corsa when it was standard

Cost me £97.48 to buy it, and not a penny to run it for 3 months, apart from the insurance.

Went through 3 sets of front tyres right enough, got "new" ones off any scrap car that was around

Yup, only thing that went wrong was 1 wheel bearing, but my brother did crash through a fence at 70mph in the ice with it

Must get some photos tomorrow, as I was flat out tonight with the 106 and saxo.

Engine is now out of the VTS, box is off, new clutch fitted, timing belt being done tomorrow.

Also finished the loom, looks pretty good, and all the connections are correct and working, so it should work
