Do you use Google for anything currently? Might as well be a Google fan boy now and use it for everything. Makes life easier, play music is my favourite part at the moment, all music stored remotely and just pull an album or 2 down at a time then delete, made my s2 loads faster not being clogged up with music

Ive had a few friends who have moved away from iphones, with mixed opinions.

IOS 7 is around the corner and promising a slight overhaul and there's plenty of rumours for new hardware in the next iphone (isn't there always).

Id be interested to know how you get on.

CORSA NUT - As Gary mentioned, you're going to need a Google account anyway (for activation, Play store etc) and it certainly makes life easier if you swap over to GMail (it's a PoP transferring mail across anyway, likewise contacts) for mail/contacts.

It is ok on OS X but it still likes to fuck around with your music collection though and start renaming directories to what ever the fuck it likes

Haven't used iTunes once since getting the 5, what are people using it for?

Mate of mine went iPhone to S3 after I got my S3 and was pissed off when I went back iphone, said its gone slow and keeps crashing.

I'm sure that will all be sorted with the newer androids though.

I've sorted a Google account and now know how to transfer all my music/pictures/contacts over.

Seems simple I'm sure I'll fuck it up somehow though

Unless I'm mistaken you still need iTunes to transfer any CD's you don't want to repurchase through iTunes plus any other music that you haven't bought direct.

I used to use an alternative program (Media Monkey iirc) but that was only marginally better.

Do all the apps just work with the S4 or do devs have to update them for the 1080p screen?

Depends on the application but Android has a number of ways of adjusting the app for the screen; as mentioned before when you queried about development for different screens/resolutions.

I was in the same boat as you until I got my S4 last week. There's a tool on Samsung's website which will allow you to sync over all your contacts, messages, notes etc based off your iTunes backup. It also recommends apps based off the backup too.

Definitely install Swype, there's a 30 day trial, well worth it.

the standard keyboard isn't all that though, get the SwiftKey trial downloaded and see how you find it, I can't use anything else now I've got it.

I'm using SwiftKey, it's brilliant. The more you use it the more it learns and the quicker you get.
