I had a few quid on Vettel to win at 11-1 before qualifying, let's hope he can pull something off from 3rd.

Judging by the GP2 race start, things may well get a bit mental into the 1st corner.

Let's hope Lewis can manage to get around without hitting someone this time...

No chance, even with the tow on the main straight, the Ferrari's max speed was lower than the Merc's and even the Red Bull's I believe.

No chance. I think damage will be caused to LH's car before the first 3 corners. Perhaps it won't be his own fault, but he generally seems to come off worse at the moment. Could be a reason for it, or it just could be back luck.

Probably the worst quali performance from Lewis in a long time that. He doesn't seem to have an excuse for it either, just not on it today.

I watched his onboard FP sessions and he was so relaxed around this circuit even with the car sliding around all over the place, today looked clunky and nervous in comparison.

Tomorrow is going to be a right 'mare for me. Got the family round for dinner at 2pm, then as soon as I kick them out I need to hit the road for a 5 hour trek up to dundee to check into my hotel.

That means 5hours in the car without radio in risk of ruining the result, then somehow need to navigate onto the Sky Go page for F1 without also ruining the result to start watching the race at probably midnight

I think there'll be a lot more at play than top speed on this circuit. I think the ferrari's tyre management will be much better than Mercedes.

Tyre management on a street circuit? Nah.... The surface is ridiculously smooth. It's basically a high speed Monaco with overtaking areas.

As Paul Di Resta was saying earlier though, the surface is too smooth and the tyres are struggling to grip causing lateral movement and increased heat buildup and increased tyre wear. Now Mercedes are having to look in their mirrors more they can't relax with tyre usage. This is playing into other teams hands.

They've been struggling to switch tyres on all weekend, and some drivers have been getting their quickest runs on the 5th/6th lap of a stint. I doubt wear will be an issue, but early graining may well be so they'll need to drive through that phase accordingly.

I think we can expect a fair few virtual safety cars, the tyres struggle with tyre temps during that phase so I expect lots of flat spots once racing restarts, as we've seen countless times today. I reckon this will influence the results a lot.

GP2 race this morning was first corner chaos! Apparently restarts after safety cars posed real difficulties too with tyre temps, I have such high hopes for this race!

I'm liking the circuit - didn't think I would before seeing actual action on it.

Lot of drivers on grid walk believe they are going to have issues with tyres this race.

Issue's in what way? Tyre's can be difficult to 'switch on' in the cool area's where the sun is blocked by buildings.

Yeah, I think graining phases / tyre temps after restarts.

They're doing 200mph + whilst trying to sort issue's out on their wheel.

I'm sure you"d manage that just fine though.

Funny how you don't mention about Kimi swearing on the radio. I guess that's OK though because he's not Lewis.

He is going to need a rather a big dummy

However I can see how he is so frustrated about the team not being able to tell him

I think the rule is stupid

The radio ban is ridiculously stupid. Everyone said that as soon as it came into effect.

But as it's Lewis with problems, it's great. Anyone else, it's be an outrage.
