last night i got upto about 90MPH lol and when i got to about 5,500RPM this light came on my dashboard, looked like an engine? anyway as it done that my car instantly lost about 2,000RPM... and last night and this morning, when i drove it again, when it gets to about 5,500RPM the car feels really sluggish and i _have_ to change gear. its not all the time, happened about 3-4 times.
i dunno what it could be, but i did put an induction kit on only on monday, so maybe it could be that?
i think im gonna leave it a couple of weeks see what happens because ive got my MOT coming up. anyone have a different idea to what it could be? btw my cars a 1.0 12v and my induction kit is a PVD BFO cone

Take induction kit off and see if this cures the problem? Was the light red or orange?

Yes engine management light. Think you can get an error code off it, dunno if it has to be lit at the time though. Don't think ind kit would cause what you have said to happen.

i've revved mine to redline b4 and its been alright touch wood but i agree with kerzo though its not a good idea! and i dont do it very often i want my enigne to survive! i take it yours must be a fairly small engine if it was doin 5500 at 90 assuming u were in 5th so i def wouldnt be pushin it so far again mate. id get it checked out at your local garage though mate it must be somethin if it done it a few times

Revving it to 5500 shouldnt cause the problems mentioned, most definitely not normal. Take it go a garage n get it checked out

i would say a bust sensor too, I had this kinda problem sometime back, it was my lambda (O2) sensor causing this problem.
