How many units do you want? Easily get a functional kitchen for 2k, just depends on the style and quality of stuff you want.

I think there is going to be issues with that lean to extension thing when it comes to the valuation.

There are many ways I will save money:

1) Can get 10% at Wickes and B&Q through GF's work
2) Don't have to buy any tools
3) Have a lot of left over materials from doing up parents/sisters/friends houses
4) Can get carpet/underlay/grip at cost
5) Doing most of the work myself/dad/friends

With the exception of the kitchen and maybe doors steer clear of the DIY outlets, they'll almost always, even with the discount, be more expensive than proper trade suppliers like Jewson, Travis Perkins or whatever local independents are close to you. Same goes for paint/decorating supplies.
