I'm leaving my current job meaning my lovely discount shall be evaporating. I have had my 3GS Bout 14months and am happy with it. However it's out of warranty now and I am considering upgrading to take into account my discount before I have to leave my job. So the question is, a 16gb iPhone4 or wait for the 5 to come out and pay full whack for one?
Thoughts?

why not get the 4 and sell it on ebay and then use the money to wards a 5

I get 40% off line rental.
Need to cancel current contract but that's not too much of a biggie if I recycle the 3GS. Just don't "need" it but want to take advantage of the discount before I have to pay public prices

how much do you get for recycling 3gs' these days?
my 3gs is absolutely screwed and I'm holding out for a iphone 5, but i actually need another phone in the meantime.
Wouldn't mind a working 3gs until iphone 5 comes out, then I assume I could just recycle it too?

3GS is £140 trade in
Get the iPhone 4 with discounted line rental then sell it straight away and put the money towards a sim free 5 and stick your discounted sim in it.

How much will the iPhone4 be worth though? If I'm stumping up to pay off the contract I'm not gunna stump up another £200 on a newer iPhone.
I will get a "free" iphone4 and pay £30p/m or just wait and grab a sim free iphone5 in a few months time?

How longs the contract?
Assuming its 18 months the contract and iPhone 4 will cost you £540 in total.
The iPhone 5 will be £510 sim free at a guess. Then you'll either have to get a sim only contract with cashback or get a PAYG sim and top up £10 a month. Meaning over 18 months it will have cost you £690.
Noone can tell you if the iPhone 5 is worth £180 more as noone knows what it is yet. I would imagine in 18 months the iPhone 5 will be worth at least £100 more than the iPhone 4 so its only really going to cost you £80 more over 18 months.
I'd wait. (Unless you want to buy my few month old white iP4)

I wouldn't be suprised is iOS5 runs slow on iP4 either like iOS4 does on the 3G/3GS.

Yeah that's the thing, but I could keep the iphone4 on ios4 and not update. If it's a big fucking brick I just don't want it. I have an iPad I don't want a big screen.

That's an awful lot of hassle when if I wait for iPhone5 I will just get One and recycle my 3GS.
Wish it would hurry up and be announced I CBA waiting. If it's gunna be a more powerful 4 I'll get one. If it's a big paddle with oversized screen I'll get a 16gb4 on the cheap.

from what i've seen/read, it's going to have a bigger screen, deeper at the top than the bottom (wedge shape if you look at it side on).
Thats just peoples educated guesses though

Be selling my iPhone 4 to get new one it's just how long do you wait!
If new iPhone 5 release was in next few week would stick on eBay now and just use an old phone until 5 arrives.
