Put 12v to your fan directly.

Does it come on? As what beardy has suggested should work.

If youve put 12v directly to your fan and it dosent come on then its broke.

I'd do it for you but your too far away really.

What switch is on the thermostat on the X16 engines? Wasn't one on mine! Or do you mean the one on the rad itself?

Is the rad actually getting warm? If the thermostat itself isn't opening, then no hot coolant will be moving through the rad and activating the fan switch.

Which temperature sensor did you fit? The one with a two pin blue plug that the ECU uses, or one with a single spade connector that goes to the dash?

if you have taken the plug from the fan switch on the rad and bridged them and the fan comes on then it's either the switch is faulty or no hot water is getting to the switch.

This test would prove that all wiring is OK because all the fan switch does is join the two wires together when it gets hot.

Know any sparks? If so borrow a voltage/continuity tester. Put it across the switch then let your car idle so it warms up. Switch should give you continuity when it gets to 100deg or whatever temp it is.

Failing that make a simple curcuit with a random brake light buld or something.

Multimeter should have continuity on it. Or measure the resistance across the 2 pins. When the engine is cool you shouldnt get a reading as the curcuit is not comeplete.

When the engine is at the right temp for the fan to kick in you should get a reading.
