is this to be expected with more compression after a head skim?

the engine will do this when its not got nice damp air, i get around 100miles to a tank when its warmish air or stuck in traffic.

WTF do you drive! A hummer?

Anyhow, that'd mean driving the car in those mentioned conditions for 300-350 miles. Not very likely.

the temperature or humidity of the air will have no or very little effect on fuel consumption as most ECU systems dont increase fuelling with hot intake temps, they retard the timing.

100 miles a tank = something massively wrong.

I was getting 150 to a tank when my car was pissing petrol out the exhaust.

mates gti uses about £110 every 2 weeks.

exhaust fumes are all ok on my car, just when it gets hot around town or stucj in traffic it drinks untoled amounts of fuel. if you get stuck in traffic and the engine fan comes on it draws on the engine really bad and you can see the fuel gague move down, ended up using just under 1 notch on my fuel gage traveling 10 miles in these sort of conditions, it was redicules when the fan cuts in its like driving a 1.1 fiesta towing a caravan it really has nothing

Yes, so it's broken and needs fixing. Your mate's GTI has nothing to do with your car being wrong.

post above mine asked about the 1.8

i would like to know whats wrong with my car, plugs are good they are at juist a off tan colour, emmisions are good and no visable leaks or smells, just uses untold ammounts of fuel when hot, but when cold it runs ok.
