A neighbor of mine has asked me to change her brake pads and do anything else that needs doing to it.
So at 1st i checked the oil level.... there was black tar on the dip stick. Wiped that off (which wasn't easy) and tried again. Nothing. So i asked her if it's ever had a service. She said that it has an MOT every year
I said not to worry i'll use some of my oil to top it up so the engine doesn't get damaged.
Well, 4.5 Litres later and it's just over the minimum level (i ran out).
It's done 46k and more likely 40k without oil. The tar that is in there is really bad.
Now here is the question.....
Will the oil even go round the engine or is everything going to be all tared up? Am i better to give the car a good run to try and get the oil round the system?
I don't want to use that engine flush coz i've had bad results with it and so have many people on here.
Cheers
