on a more detailed post if the oil pump has gone then you will have done a lot of damage i would say so would be cheaper getting another 12v engine and putting it in wouldnt be too hard to change one over i think

fuck messin with it, get as much for it as i can in whatever state i can get it to and buy a new car.
will it be truly fucked though if its the oile pump? cos i put oil in and the oil light was on still! after it died the first time i tried drivin it home and at full revs the light was goin out, although the car was goin half as fast as it would normally at said revs

if the oil pump went the engine would seize unless it was partially working or something not sure how they work on the 12volt engine not worth spending money on an engine that has seized cause of lack of oil. Could be wrong in what i think it is though

or the oil pressure sensor packed in, made you think it had no oil so topped up & overfilled it... happend on my old 1.4, filled it up, idled fine, drove it, juddered, bang, thick white smoke, ran like a bitch

just drained the oil & changed it, then let it run for a few hours on the driveway while it burnt all the oil from in the exhaust so was still loads of white smoke, but was fine after that!
