ive never done this coversion before but a mate is doing it in his N reg corsa sport. he's getting a C16XE and wants to know what else is needed to do the conversion.
do they use the engine mounts?
im guess he needs 22 spline shafts from a gsi, if so does he needs gsi hubs as well or will the sport ones be ok?
any more info would be appreciated.

Engine, ECU, Loom, i think if u use the gearbox thats already in the car u can keeo the shafts and hubs the same, i wud uprate the brakes to a 2.0 16v cause thos shitty little things dont stop u :L:L But tbh a 1.6 sport engine wud be much simpilar, slots straight in, u dont even have to change ur ECU, the 1.4 ECU will run it.

the car at the moment (1400) DOES NOT have p/s. So im guessing i need to get hold of an o/s engine mount.

If the engine in the car now is 16v, use the current mount on the C16XE.
Gearbox will be fine, shafts will be fine, loom is different though, as is the ECU.
Basically, engine, loom, ECU, 2 days, job done.
Easiest conversion to do, it's all just plug and play with the wiring and stuff.
