right the head has gone on the astra, what sort of cost might i be looking to get it sorted, its a 1.4 k reg any 1 got any idea

ps need to know quick coz i cant keep cycling to work because its killing me

£250 ish for a 2nd hand engine

or £450 ish to re-build yours

Shane I picked a C16SE Astra 8v engine on Ebay for £100 and if you can fit it yourself then that's all it'll cost you.

Wouldn't like to think how much a garage might charge...:O

you can do a head gasket on one of them in hour to hour and half, they really easy, perfect diy job if you don't know engines that well

not always, check em with a straight edge, all depends how bad its gone

yes, should always skim it. only £15-20
