MOT stations should have whats known as a Tapley meter for checking brakes.
I used to be an MOT tester and used this gauge on a few lowered cars - the car gets taken for a test drive instead of going on rollers.
Meter is placed on dash, or passenger seat.
Brakes are applied and gauge moves to show braking effiency.
Ask testing station to check brakes this way rather than risk damage by putting on rollers.

Quite possibly paulo89 - I no longer work in the motor trade so haven't carried out a test since the recent computerisation.Howerver I spoke to a m8 this morning who confirmed the meter can still be used where necessary.
As he quite rightly stated what happens to factory supplied vehicles that are too low for rollers - some Lotus models etc.
The meter can still be used in certain circumstances - I used to use it with some 4wd vehicles eg Jeep Cherokees as it was the only viable option to test the brakes.
