I am thinking about putting an new inlet manifold on my 1.6 sport. Started a post on here last ween about the mantzel but was wondering what people think of dbilas. On regal they seem to have the Dbilas Dynamic Flowtec inlet manifold at 460 quid.

Is this a straight swap for the standard inlet, will i be able to keep aircon?

Will it run straight after the swap before a unichip is installed? What sort of power increse will i be looking at with a full exhaust system, decat and manifold? Where is the power with this inlet? I hear it is high up on the ,mantzel, any lower with this? any boost in torque?

Cheers people

I think the dbilas for 460 replaces only the upper inlet and you keep the standard lower inlet.

You should see some gains though im not sure what they will be. I think they quote about 20bhp but that might be a bit optimistic.

so how much is the lower part? you have to buy this seperately? does the mantzel replace the whole thing?

I think the one you are on about uses standard lower inlet. If yu look some of the Dbilas cost £1k so I would assume those are the ones that replae the entire standard inlet.

Speak to Rob B he has a dbilas. He will know more than me.

yeah i have seen the more expensive one but it come with new injection system and stuff, they call it a throttle body system. its not exactly throttle bodies but is seems more that way than a normal inlet. do you know if the mantzel replaces the whole inlet? cheers mate

Best thing to do is email or ring Regal. As they should know more about it than most.

both the mantzel and dbilas are practically the same thing. they both just replace the top half of the inlet. both will give the same gains as well. you only need to change the lower half of the inlet when fitting these boxes onto a c16xe (early gsi engine) the dbilas throttle bodies are a bit poo really. not much to gain over a dbilas inlet unless you replace the management as well.

Hey a have a 1.4 with the dbilas on it and it is worth it ma 1.4 16v sport sitting a 118bhp now but there is a lot of work involved in fitting one your better getting a garrage to fit it also it should run perfect without a remap dont fall into the garages bull shit.

what other mods did you do to gain that much? i agree that the engine will run fine without a re-map but it is advisable to re-map the ecu to get the most out of the inlet. its only half a job without it. makes a big difference.

bring it to me if you want one fitting properly

try a gain more like 15 bhp at the most! most x16xe's ive done inlets on with exhaust system and filter (although i got better gains with an airbox than any induction kit) see around 123-125 bhp, so a gain of 17-19 bhp.

I've got one on my 1.4 16v.... just had it on the rollers and it got pretty much 110bhp.
Thats with a induction kit, Mongoose exhaust, de-cat and Janspeed 4 branch.

A remap would be the next step for me i think.

Worth the money i would say...
