Hey, I just got 4 steelies with nearly new Firestone tyres off of ebay for 15 quid, put them on, and now when I drive, I get a wobbly break peddle when slowing down! Someone suggested that the balancing may need doing, what does this involve, and roughly how much would it cost?

Are there any other possiblilties that could lead to this wobling, and are any of them so dangerous so that I shouldnt drive the car?

Also, ive got a funny little squeeky rattling sound coming from the area of the spare wheel bit. Ive checked for stuff under the boot carpet, and the spare wheel is secured down. Under the car, the only thing that seems to have free movement is the backbox (standard). Could those rubber bushings be worn?

Cheers

So you think my tracking needs doing? What sort of price am I looking at?

The wheels are all the same size.

not being funny, but have you tightened all the wheels nuts?

tracking and balancing doesn't cost too much.
squeak could be exhaust rubbing against something.

Yea, when I got home, I went round and checked all of the nuts. They're all on tight.

Cheers anyway, I might aswell get both the tracking and balancing done at once.

Edit: I just phoned the garage, he reckons that if it is only feedback coming through the pedal, then its more likely to be warped discs. I dont understand how this could be the case though, as I never touched the brakes when changing the wheels.

He said I could pop in tmara, and he's have a look, but god knows how much he'd want for "having a look"
