where do they actually go? i have what i think is the main ecu which is a largeish box with montronic wrote on it, then 2 other small boxes one with Bosch writen on it and a smaller one again with GM wrote on it.

yeah i wil second that!
If ya gonna hav 1 then u need to also at least to get best out of ya chip hav a custom exhaust with diameter of 2.25 inch and an induction kit.

right what it is, ive bought the engine and everything, lad said was a superchip in it how ive opend it up but how do i know theres deffo one in?

its a plug in thing(black with lots of little legs on it that push down into were it sits.
Induction kits tak in lots of cold air if fitted propely!!!

not really, any enclosed induction kit would be better than an open one, but if hou have an open one set up properly with a heat shield then it will get enough cold air anyway... as a car travels faster the air entering the engine will also be faster, (providing the car aint on a dyno) therefore denser and colder, so you'd be surprised of how little hot air would enter a properly set up induction kit...

Miles the temperature sensor deals with the hot air reducing spark advance
After using the original airbox with K+N panel filter and two cold air pipes, I now use a RaceX filter with sealed airbox (35£) and a "small" 100mm ducting pipe to the race X airbox.
Results: the engine breathes better after 5500 rpm till my 8100rpm rev limit (oh boy my original conrods bolts:lol
I have an AP22 perfomance meter from Race Technology to prove the results!
And the filter is better than the K+N ater being oiled!!!
and don't tell me K&N gives better filtration because it's a lie!!!

The airbox top has a pipes that causes restriction
