The performance figures are very impressive though. Easily keeps up with most hot hatches at the moment, especially when getting close to 100, they do give a very impressive 1/4time as standard.

15ish for the 172, 14.8 for the cup. stripped ones on slicks have done low 14's. most people that I speak towho have cups/172's hate the build quality. it's shite

The V6, despite not being mega fast, is still, when you see one, they have road presence and sound cool. Not seen many secondhand, but then I don't jack off over the autotrader like some people do. 
The original 172 before facelift, I used to prefer, now they look dated, and the later model grows on you. Such is modern car design.
