compared to a 1.4 8v corsa breeze engine (breeze = 60BHP) sri (80BHP)

was it as simple as a different chip?

No. 60bhp = spi 82bhp = mpi

Will be ecu, loom, head, inlet manifold. Possibly pistons.

Dont forget the fuel injection system will be different, and probably the radiator.

really that much!

when i bought me motor, dealer told me that the breeze has 60BHP but more torque than the sri however the sri has more power. but the breeze should work out the same. i feel i may well have been lied to!

also i though of cams,4-2-1 manifold s/s zorst system, chip and port polishing, but for this i might as well drop a 1.6 16v engine in.

You cant tune the spi engines.

The inlet manifold and ECU cover all of the fuel injection differences

You should try driving a Corsa 1.6. After being in an 8v, you will love the free revving engine.

how much would the 1.6 engine installation roughly cost? the nissan had a 1.6 and it was poor oh boy was it poor.

mike = so if i could get the manifold and ecu that would chnage the bhp to an sri? what about the mpi?

an exhaust manifold and ecu would probably see around 3-4bhp gain. You would not get much from this. Im not sure you can buy an aftermarket inlet manifold for the 1.4 8v engine.

A potential 200bhp from a 1.6 8v?

Without a huge spec and a turbo you have no chance.
