I think you will find that the rotary engine has less friction than a 4 stroke engine. The only draw back is the lack of qualified engineers to maintain it.

Technically no one can decide what size this eningne is... 1.3 or 2.6 everyone comes up with different conclusions!

The rotary was first used on a motor bike!

I'm seriously looking at getting one at the moment. As someone said, the main problem is lack of engineers, but most of them seem to be around london or oop norf. Uk models are about 235bhp, jap ones anywhere from 255 to about 280. Engine rebuilds are about £1600, so they need to be handled with kid gloves...

Got to remember tho thats theres not many parts in the engine, so theres less bits to go wrong as such, its just it means its expensive when it does.

Why you laughing? people who laugh at that don't have a clue. Yes in CC terms it has 2x chambers both at half of 1.3. But in relation to a boinger engine it is a 6cylinder 2.6.

They are like any High performance turbo car, same as supra/skyline etc.. if u don't treat them well it will cost you, if u up boost without adequate fueling u will detonate and blow something. same as all other high performance cars... the myth behind them being unreliable is nievaty( spelling) u look after them, control everything etc.. it's like any jap car.. reliable as hell.
