has anyone had this modification?
if so what do you recon to it and was it worth the money you paid.....also what kind of bhp gain you looking at

SBD 164 tp kit gives--164 bhp Cost about£2000

had it about 5 yrs ago was not very good for good for everyday use, a bit temprementle just wished id put 2 litre in instead would have saved a fortune.

It means fragile like youd have to be carefull with it and it may get a few probs with it i think matey. Just ringin vaky now be round in a bit.

i think the flames were down to it doing 120 miles on a full tank of fuel .lol

SBD kit doesn't normally get 164bhp, people tend to get 147-155ish from it.

I got c16xe with tb's, headwork, cams, verniers etc and have a genuine 164bhp.

Mine is perfectly reliable, behaves like a normal car, I get good fuel economy when I want to.

How many miles (excuse the pun!) do you get on a ful tank? Whats your insurance like mate?

Insurance isn't that bad with HIC, for £20 I do an average of about 170 miles, I used to get more but found the fuel filter was blocked Thats with commuting in traffic and some kaning it.

I bought it from various places new and secondhand, but to buy a basic tb and management kit from SBD your looking at about £2k plus fitting if you cant do it yourself.

That engine is an X16XE. Probably a late GSi or Sport

Thats mine. Looks pretty damn similar. Although i cannot tell the difference between either the C/X16XE with all the inlet manifold removed
