been reading and it says the bigger the sealed box the less the power handling will be of the sub.
what's this all about? will it be quiter? or will it be less controlled?

read the specs that come with the sub and make a box the appropriate size depending if it is sealed of ported

ya i've got the specs now, and my box is the (2 cu foot) is the maximum recommended sealed size.
but there was jsut a note saying the larger the enclosure the less power it will handle???

Correct. A sub moves easier or more efficiently in a larger box, if its a matched RMS then go for a medium box, low rms then a big box and if you are really juicing it then a small box will control the sub well. The box also efects the sound, a small box tends to be peaky up the top end with quite a harsh roll-off of the bottom end, a large box gives a good all-round flat response.

ive got a 10" type r and its in totally the wrong size box at the moment, its too big, mate has the same sub and amp in a much smaller box and hes sounds loads better, i just need to get a small box now
