My gearbox is making a wierd noise when I engage 1st gear. It sounds like metal clunking together, has anyone else had such a problem. Also my steering rack is making a bloody clunking noise again. Taking it to Vauxhall for the 3rd time on Monday to have both checked. The steering rack was changed in April under warrenty, the clunking went away for about a week and then came back as before.

Please tell me there are more people who have these niggling problems.

Steering columb is a common Corsa C Problem, apparently they've bought out a better columb to go into the cars that are having problems with it and going in under warranty,

think ive came to the conclusion that corsa C's have more problems with them than they're worth. ive constantly had my mams in and out of vauxhall to have things like the steering coloumb and air flow meter replaced. only damn problem is, every time its in, its in for a hefty period, i.e a week or so and im too young to qualify to drive the damn courtesy car

spelt steering column btw...
my corsa c hasnt had any major problems with it yet. i think the only problem is the tacky plastic stuff they make the interior with. ive managed to snap a couple of clips when taking out the interior...
thats about it

I've had a new set of pads on the front which didn't do anything, but now it seems to have just gone away.

mine is 1 year old and ive had no problems at all, except for the brakes and clutch pedals squeeking, which is down to a bad design fault - could have deigned them better myself!

just had my second year service today. £124.
I have had the lower column changed, but it still knocks, also had the wipers replaced, wiring fault on the main beam, rear wheel brake cylinder replaced, brake pads once, fogs mist up, rear light filled with water, central locking on the drivers door unlocked itself, and the passenger door needed re-alignment

Vauxhall fixed my steering rack the 1st time even though the car was lowered. The said that lowering should not cause the problem and the warrenty is only void on the parts you change.

Got the gearbox problem fixed. Vaux' replaced the gear linkage, what a difference and even the other clunking noise I thought was the steering rack is now gone.
