How do i do it. Av read many guides on the web and apparently i have to short pins 5 and 6 on the 16 pin connector to the left of the fuses, but theres no pin 6 just 5.

Wot do i do ne1?

turns out diagnoistic connector is fooked so i carnt check it out, is it possible to connect direct to the ecu and see what ots problem is ??

There is basically 1 wire from the ecu that needs to be earthed. This will make the ecu warning light flash. The wire goes from the ecu into the 9 pin plug (3 rows of 3 wires) the warning light wire is number 6 on that plug and is brown/blue, I think this is a ground, so you need to use a permanant live. Number 9 wire brown/yellow is the diagnostic wire that needs earthing to read the codes out.

If you have just plugged this 9 pin connector into your cars loom then the warning light should work as usual on your original clocks, and the diagnostic socket should work ok.

If any of that doesn't make sense ask and I'll do my best to help.

so assuming the connector cant b used, my ecu has 2 connectors goin into it, r u saying if i earth a particulare wire coming from the ecu that it will flash the codes out ?

There is a 9 pin plug (3x3 pins) coming off one of the main ecu plugs. The wire i mentioned above needs earthing to make the warning light flash. The flash sequence is then counted.
