My personal recomendation would be Infinity Referance series, in a 6.5" fitment they are approx £100. You'll need some autoleads adaptors for £15 and you'll need to slightly space youre door pocket out from the metal door and speaker cos it will catch. I used some small MDF washer type things which i made.
The component set sounds very good off both h.unit power and Amp. I ran my current set off my OLD Kenny h.unit and they are now being amped from an alpine pushing 100 wrms a side through them!!

Alpine Type-R's are too much, get some Phoenix Gold's. Either the soon to be discontinued QX range (RRP. £99) for a bargain, or the new Octane range, no RRP on those though.

What are Boston like ? they look nice, dunno about price though :S

If you look hard enough on the net you can find most speakers for under £100 alphacaraudio.co.uk is cheap-ish...

I was after Alpine SXS-1757's from them, but they're always outta stock

Want some really good sounding components? go for Kenwood dual mags, 120 watts rms for the better versions but there 20 squid over your budget, still its worth it.

yeah but alpha look dodgy as hell, they dont list prices for half their stuff, they dont reply to emails and they dont often have stock of anyhting cheap.

Letsbuycaraudio have very good customer service, always reply and deliver very promptly. any problems are also quickly resolved,
I.E.

My mate ordered a Alpine CDA-7912RB headunit, it arrived in 2 days but was a 7912RR, not RB. He rang them and they immediatly dispatched a RB model by courier and have arranged for another courier to pick up his old unit all free of charge. I was impressed for an online company.

Alpine type R's are to deep to fit in standard speaker positions, u would need custom door builds.

Think theyre the 655cs or 605 cs. But they sound the nuts. Iam gonna selllt eham by the end of the ear and have some FOCAL Utpoia 163W3's in an almighty dash bui;d and a couple of Audison Amps. Aswell as some smaller 13cmcompsin the rear, two 5"focal subs in the frony doors and 2 x 12" elemental designs subs in the boot.
